THE WRITTEN WORD

When the eleventh day of September in 2001 finally expired all of us were changed. Our latent spirit of national unanimity awoke with a resounding roar and a call to arms.
The tragedy inspired me to write a poem something I had not written in years. That moment came when I was putting up the flag at my home. I raced to my computer and began writing "I Held The Flag Today." In short I was invited to recite it at the first candlelight ceremony near the site of United Flight 93, The poem became a national hit; subsequently the publishing of two books. numerous speaking, media and book-signing appearances across the nation.
I invite you to click on Please Play Taps for Me my latest video poem now on YouTube then click on Popuar Poems a few poems which are featured in both of my patriotic books "I Held The Flag Today: Words of Patriotism" and "More Words of Patriotism."

THE LATEST NEWS
The dedication of the Veterans Way Memorial in Pink Hill Park, Blue Springs, Missouri was a moving and memorable success on April 2, 2013.
My poem, "Eternal Messengers," received a standing ovation. It was created to honor all veterans. It told of a granite pillar shouldering "Restless Recovery," a wounded bird, which was first featured at the four-day visitation of the traveling Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall That Heals in 2010.
I had the honor of speaking at that opening ceremony and reciting "A Moving Epitaph,"
a poem honoring our Vietnam soldiers.
A sincere thank you to Blue Springs Mid Continent Library for printing copies of my poem which were passed out to the audience.
